We hired James, taxi driver, to take us and a few others to the southeast side of the island. Along the way, James stopped to show us Morgan Freeman ex-wife's house. There isn't much left of the 19th Century copper mine, but I was curious to check it out whilst I was here. From the entrance, the route down to the mine didn't take long, nor did walking around the mine, (or rather, its ruins). We did enjoy the drive out to the point (you definitely need a vehicle to get there) and there are great views. However, the circular path shown on the information board is no longer there - it looks like it got washed away or eroded over time - hence the roped off area mentioned by the previous reviewer. Not an all day excursion, in fact you'll see the whole thing in 20 minutes. But to me it was worth the trip out there. Went up Virgin Gorda Peak the same day. This is probably best seen from a rental jeep, cheap and easy. Then you have time to see the place at your leisure, and get lost on... More
