The Callwood Distillery looks like a shack the Big Bad Wolf could blow over in one puff, but they've been there for centuries, so it's gotta be more stable than it looks. If you're in Cane Garden Bay, pay the 1$ for the tasting and enjoy tasting the four different rums they have. Should take no more than 15 minutes.... More

If you want a peek inside history, take about 20-30min to visit this place. Felt like I was in a pirate trove of rum. The rum cache here is small and compact but very cool. Old dusty bottle and barrels surround this tiny bar. 4 shots of rum for $1. There are many items of detail inside but you need... More

On a recent trip to visit Tortola in the British Virgin Islands we made our way to a quiet beach with a local-vibe on the northwest side of the small island - Cane Garden Bay Beach. Just south on Route 1 from the beach is a rum distillery with big time word-of-mouth, some great history, and not much else. This... More

We visited Tortola when our cruise ship stopped there. Did an Island Tour and was taken to Callwoods Rum Distillery which is located just behind Cane Garden Beach. It was a little, rundown shack, so small we could not all go into it at once (15 of us). The advertisement was 4 shots for $1. It was more like 4... More

We visited the distillery when staying in Cane garden bay, the distillery is still operating and has a range of bottles for sale at great prices.

This was a fun stop on our bus tour through Tortola. An amazing 400 year old limestone building housing the Caribbean's oldest pot distillery! We were charged a whopping $1 per person for 5 small shots of their rums. And they were all delicious! (We even sampled one they can't sell, due to it being fermented in cannabis.) And of... More

This is a fun place to visit even though I'm not convinced Rum is still made there. Interesting to see and try some of the Rum.

Stay away. Tourist trap. Very hard to believe this actually produces rum but they say it does. Taxi cabs love to take you here so they can rack up the fees. Taxi's must get kick backs for taking you here. Also .. I bought their panty peeler rum and drank it with several women and I did not get the... More

We drove up to the distillery, dirt parking lot, lots of refuse about. This spot should not be listed on Trip Advisor as a place to go. There is nothing there.

Place is historic and very rustic. Rum is not that good, compared to others like Pusser's or Mount Gay or Cruzan.
