Parrot Preserve - A must see is the 180 acre preserve which was established to protect the endemic, endangered Cayman Brac Parrot. There is a two mile nature trail for hiking through the Preserve--a good place to see the beautiful local flora and fauna as well.

Early to mid morning, I think depending on how hot it is, we went here a few times, on our last trip we were with other friends. We walked out and I talked them into going back again and there were beautiful pairs of cayman brac parrots everywhere! It was awesome.....if at 1st you don't succeed do try again!

Major Donald Drive cuts right through the center of the bluff on the way to the lighthouse. Less than a mile from the turnoff from the eastern Cross Island major road is the preserved area. We HEARD them ( loud squawking) first, then stopped the car ( traffic is non-existent) brought binoculars and saw three perfectly poised parrots on a... More

We can here twice and as other posters have said it is best to go early in the morning or later in the day. One day we went at 4pm and there must have hundreds of the parrots all squawking at the same time it was great. Be ware though the trail is tough and you need to take water,... More

An easy walk over a wooden boardwalk. We saw quite a few birds and even a couple of the rare parrots. A wonderful nature walk.

It was so great to find these beautiful parrots. We went around 6 pm and they were all around. They're very loud so when you hear them, start looking up in the trees. It's a beautiful little walk into their little jungle.

It's a very short walk and it's hard to spot. You'll see a boardwalk on the left if you're traveling east on the southern road. It's very easy to miss, but if you do, it's worth it to drive to the end of the line for the great view. If you want to see parrots you need to be quiet... More

Nice walk, little bit overgrown, be prepared, take care to follow the National Trust signs, wear good walking shoes. The 1/3 mile to the Bluff edge along the Bight path is also worth it for the view to the sea. We went early morning, but saw no parrots as we learned the next day from a local resident that at... Great for Flora/Fauna people. Take water and wear good shoes. We saw a big Iguana. It's a nice activity for dive off days.

We went to the Parrot Preserve around noon in late April and did indeed see a few parrots...but probably would have seen more in early morning or late afternoon. The boardwalk is easy to walk but we would rate the trails that we hiked as at least intermediate level, so as others have said, wear good hiking shoes or boots.
