Gorgeous Beach

A beautiful, but busy beach. Lots of cheep beers around, restaurants, umbrellas and chairs for rent. Water sports are available for a fee. Nice views. White sand and clear water.

This was a beautiful sandy beach, now taken over by opportunists. When cruise ships are in, do not fall for the ride in the open back of a truck to Cockleshell. You would be much happier visiting Carambola, a short drive the other side of Frigate Bay or go for the Marriott's beach and amenities.

Cockleshell beach can be extremely busy during day when cruise shippers land but in the evening it is quite nice . We had dinner ( reservations highly suggested ) at reggae beach . The crowd at night is not overwhelming . Would suggest at night having taxi ride since back road off main is a bit dicey and no lights... More

Took a $15 cab ride to this beach from the cruise ship port while ashore during a cruise in early February 2017. Nice beach approximately a half mile long. Chaise lounges under covered structures can be rented for only $5. Beach faces south with clear view of Nevis only two miles away via boat. Be sure to go to the... More

We went to this beach on our cruise stop. It was a 30 minute drive from the port with great scenery along the way. We arrived at the beach grabbed our chair and soaked up some sun. There is not much at the beach which I enjoyed. It felt secluded but not remote. There was a place to rent jet... More

This was a go to the beach day on one of our cruise stops and the group of 12 of us hired a cab to see the island of St. Kitts. Later on during the drive he dropped us off at Cockleshell Beach. The weather was nice but omg it was so crowded there were no open spots to be... More

Brown sand because of the combination of black lava sand and white coral sand. Clean water. A little seaweed on the beach, but this is one of the best public beaches on the island. It's a half hour ride from Bassitiere. Lots of small places to get food drink dot the area. Chairs, umbrellas and rest facilities are easily avaiable.

We visited St. Kitts while cruising the carribean and after much deliberation decided to go to Cockleshell bay, we negotiated a taxi with a few other people for $8 per person each way. We were dropped off at Reggae beach bar, where we hired two sunbeds and a umberella. Great beach and absolutely full of shells, great for walking and... More

We got a taxi from the port out to the beach. There was a beach nearer the port but we thought this one looked prettier. It had quite a few little bars and eating places but the area wasn't too commercialised. Parasols and sun loungers were available and weren't expensive. The beach and shore were attractive with soft sand and... More
