Go to the dock near the Aquatic Club, a local will offer a "water taxi" for you to take to the fort, it cost me 30.00$ EC, took 10 minutes to boat there, the guy was nice, the island that Fort Duvernette is on is very nice. Go either for the sunrise or for the sunset, best views, with great... More

My husband and I went with Bamboo Adventures to hike up Ft. Duvernette. First we took a short boat ride to the island and then we hiked all the way to the top.. Our tour guide Carola was great, along with the 2 sons of the boat driver, who guided our climb. The views from the top are spectacular and... More

Pros: The views are fantastic! It's super easy and quick to get to. The water is so crystal clear and such a gorgeous dark turquoise, it's also a great area to swim, but you have to dive off the dock as there's no beach. Cons: It's a bit scary hiking up to the top. There's steps along the way, but... More

We caught a boat from the Young Island dock to Fort Duvernette or Rock Fort as it is known locally. The fort on top of the volcanic rock island is reached by a steep climb up stairs that have been upgraded and repaired over the years. There were major works done in 1969 and the masons involved in the work... More

This was the first stop on a whirlwind visit. Great introduction. Fantabulous views from the top and along the walk up. NB:- 255 steps to the top though...walk with water!

Another historic site in St. Vincent to visit. We got a boat ride over there from a friend at Villa beach-like a 5 minute boat ride. Once there, it's a little bit of a walk up to the top but definitely worth it for the view. We got some pretty nice pictures. It's very isolated, you probably won't bump into... More

Such a beautiful place. Make sure to wear shoes or sandals as there is rock on the path. We kayaked out and enjoyed the view and privacy.

A slippy climb down to the beach...be aware at all times of your footing...cross currents half way across the channel....be aware.. Duvernette has an aura, a mystique and if you are a good swimmer and reasonably fit..then go for it... just take care!
