Batteaux Bay and the peninsula between Batteaux Bay and Tyrrel Bay is something that you should not miss when in the area. It has its own magic, see my pictures. away from the heavy traffic, charming and intriguing. Check the old mill and the old house ruins, very picturesque, again see my pictures. You must see these when driving around.

First, let me start off by saying that the #1 resort in all of Tobago resides on Batteaux Bay, and it is HIGHLY overlooked because of it's location. But I definitely recommend giving the place a shot. The beach is very lovely, and the resort offers glass bottom boat tours off the beach as well.

We set off from here on a guided visit to Little Tobago. The bay is fringed by a narrow strip of sand and was almost deserted when we were there....a great attraction

This place is insane! Its like stepping onto the scene of a James Bond film. Loved diving off the wee wooden pier into the crystal clear waters!!

Situated on the grounds of the Blue Waters Inn, this is a nice beach. Despite being the Atlantic side, the bay is relatively protected from rough waters due to Little Tobago and Goat Island. Swimming is pretty safe as long as you don't swim out past 100 yards where the currents pick up. This beach is best visited if you're... More

Batteaux Bay is accessed through Blue Waters Inn which is located on the bay. (Hats off to the management of the inn for their apparent commitment to hospitality!) It's a steep five minutes hike from the road to the beach. It's beautiful and serene.

what a lovely quiet bay. Views are great, swimming is nice. Snorkelling is limited, very blurry and often lots of jelly fish (juk).

Batteaux Bay is unusual because although it is on the windward side of Tobago it is protected from the worst of the Atlantic swell by the little island of Little Tobago which, incidentally, is a wild life refuge.
