This rocky promontory, the easternmost point in the United States, juts into the Caribbean Sea and features "The Castle," a huge mansion perched atop the cliffs and which resembles India's Taj Mahal and a Moorish mosque.

The drive out to point Udall has many great vistas, and the monument at the end of the island is worth heading out there for. Great views and dramatic waves on the beaches below.

You can read about this place or take a short trip, go past the local park, up the hill and here you are at the easternmost point of America. Please take a moment and read the bronze plaques to appreciate the shadow of a gnomon.

Absolutely gorgeous view. Learned about this historic point and loved every moment of it. The drive up was great as well.

We don't leave negative reviews and will always address privately anything that is out of sorts with places we stay and enjoy but have something that is a bit "off"--this is different. BEWARE, folks. The locals know there is no cell coverage, they know the...More

The easternmost point in the United States. Yeah, it's a bit of a drive, but very scenic with pulloffs to take pictures of the cliffs and waves.

This location had great ocean views. It's kind of odd though to have this monument plunked out in such a desolate area. Glad we saw it, but once is enough.

Another “not to be missed” if you like unusual landmarks of national significance. There’s also the opportunity for comaraderie while waiting for a sunrise. If you have time plan the visit on an expected clear sky morning for the best sunrise photos.

Probably a little tough return hike up the trail to the parking lot for the 18 month year old. Fun down hill. Round trip to Jack's bay is about 1.5 miles. Even though we are in our 70s this was an easy hike with wonderful... More

I'll defer to the locals for accurate crime stats, but as a recent visitor, I'll do my best on the east end. The east side is beautiful and has some incredible views. It is much more quiet, and many areas would best be... More
