Three beach areas, but only open on weekends (or when cruise ships in port). Also closed during turtle nesting season. We were there early (10:00 am) on a Saturday and only a few folks were around. Easy to find a quiet place on the beach - but no facilities (restrooms/concessions/etc)

This is place to go for a great beach. There is nothing here but the beach. It is spectacular. Almost 3 miles from end to end. Gentle slope great for walking. The two days we were ther had different wave conditions. One almost calm the other with 2 to 3 foot waves. You can wade out a long way and... More

When we visited, it was too rough to swim, and the water drops off really quickly, so could only lay on the beach. Beautiful sand and view, if that's your thing, but I like to swim and snorkel so was suboptimal. Interesting fact though, this is where the final scene in the film Shawshank Redemption was filmed. Yeah, not Mexico!

Excellent beach! The sand and water are heavenly. We went both Saturday and Sunday. It was somewhat crowded on Saturday, but crowded for St. Croix is like 20-30 people. There was plenty of room on the beach still. There isn't much snorkeling here; it's more of a relax and swim beach. We loved it!

Lovely swim (may want water shoes for the flat coral reef) Pubic Pool nearby but closed, and it was Sunday - we weren't sure why. Picnic tables, but no lounge chairs - bring your own. Same with picnic. It's the beach in the final scene of the movie "Shawshank Redemption." Read up on it to learn more.

We arrived just after 10:00 am on a beautiful Saturday morning. There was still a couple spots left in the parking area when we arrived, but when we left a few hours later, the spots were filled and lots of cars were just parked on the side of the road. We read you aren't supposed to bring chairs or umbrellas,... More

Sadly, Sandy Point is only open on the weekends and if a ship is in port, we had really wanted to visit the area but missed it multiple times.

Worth checking out this beach on the western tip of the Island. Long stretch of sand that you can walk along. Water was fairly calm. Many brought picnics. We brought blow-up floaties and relaxed in the water. You can see across the bay to where the cruise ships dock.

Exquisitely peaceful. Not for the beach-action lover, but for the quiet beach lover. Float in perfectly warm clear water, read a book, stare off to the west at distant boats, distant weather, and an immense sky. Love this place. Remember to bring a wide brim hat and drinking water. Enjoy, and leave only your footprints when you depart.
