It was only $10 for both of us and the views from the second floor were cool. The fort itself is interesting but unfortunately, the barely legible photocopied "map" wasn't terribly helpful. The small museum of furniture from previous periods on the second floor was neat.

History about The Fort. It was built between 1752 and 1760 by Denmark-Norway to defend the economic interests of the natural deep water port of Frederiksted and to ward off pirates. Also it has so much History to this site also and you must take the tour if you every visit St. Croix and just beautiful.

The fort and the descriptions of the rooms is the neatest part about the museum. The museum is small and not well thought out. The museum has a little history but it was so hot the day we visited you didn't want to stand around and read the poster boards that were hard to read anyhow. The furniture room was... More

Take the tour of the fort and get the history from a local who clearly loves the fort and gives a lively talk about the things that transpired there at Fort Frederik. So much more informative than a history book.

I was a little dissapointed in the size of the fort, but still could see and feel the history that has taken place there. The Fort is close to a public beach and the pier so definately take 30 minutes and look around the Fort.

Gorgeous old fort, spectacular view, but not much of a museum. The collections are cool, but not well curated, and don't seem to be well taken care of. The place could do with some restoration and a better effort to take advantage of its unique colonial history and architectural beauty.

Just by the cruise port you find this old fort that once was one of the main settlements in the Danish colony. You can go inside (a small fee for entrance) and get to know about the history of the fort and absout the slavery. You can even walk up on the roof and get a nice view of your... More

Very interesting self-guided tour of this old fort filled with history and amazing artifacts. You need to be able to handle steps, but you can enjoy the lower level if steps are a challenge. He had a super time checking out this place.

Fort Frederik is a good place to visit to learn some history about the island. There is a small entrance fee. The inside perimeter of the fort has some rooms that display art, photos, and information about the fort and St. Croix. The view of the water is just beautiful but that could be said of any place in St.... More
