The waterfront is nice, but the town needs some major work. I'd say half of it lies in ruins and disrepair. Step away from the pier and go in one or two streets, and you probably wouldn't feel very comfortable. Locals are hanging out in...More

7th time on island and the busiest we've ever seen it. More shops and restaurants open, more activity everywhere as they rebuild from María. So good to seen because there was lots of damage in this area. A cruise ship was here on Monday, so...More

I walked around Frederiksted for a few hours in April 2018. It is located right near the cruise ship pier. The main street is The Strand which has many shops and some restaurants. There was a parade, two guys walking on stilts and music. Nearby...More

I loved taking photos of the colorful, but dilapidated buildings just a block from the waterfront, but other than that, I found Frederiksted to be a deserted town, impoverished, offering little than the beautiful beaches of the west end of the island. I stayed nearby...More

A cute town with shops and food. I definitely recommend snorkeling at the pier--lots of life and color. You can find souvenir shops and gear rentals near the water. If you rented a car, parking may be difficult to find.

Although impacted by hurricanes in late 2017, Frederiksted is making a comeback. While the number of businesses and restaurants is not back yet, there are a number of them back up and running. Sitting on the main street overlooking the harbor, the only evidence of...More

You can walk round the town within an hour, as there is very little to see - although there has been an effort to place historical plaques (of ?merit) to some buildings. I was surprised that as an American island, that buildings had been left...More

Frederiksted has very little to do. And at night .. its dangerous !! If you are visiting by cruise ship, your ship will dock in Frederiksted, but you won't want to hang out there. Take a taxi or rent a car and visit Christainsted or...More

No. We were not in Frederiksted on a Friday. It sounds like it would be worth going to.
