Nice little side highlight

A short walk to see some history. Not as large as Annanberg but interesting ruins to see and great for pictures.

Park in the lot and hike to the top. The views are amazing. Hurricane Marilyn took out the Peace Hill Statue years ago, but the windmill is still there and the view is worth it. It is not a strenuous hike even in summer months.

The trail is short (.1mi) but rocky and steep, so wear appropriate shoes! Lovely view of Hawksnest Beach from the summit.

A beautiful short hike for couples or families with kids. Definitely worth a detour if you're driving around St. John's.

This was an unexpected little find for us. We were heading towards the beaches on North Shore Rd. and decided to stop and take a look; I'm glad we did! Easy hike up from the parking lot, neat windmill ruins to look around in and amazing views, you can see for miles. Get there either early or fairly late in... More

Peace Hill is the perfect name for this rock. One of the most serene spots on the island. Totally worth the 500 ft, uphill climb to get here. The windmill ruin is in great shape, but come for the views. Hawksnest Bay to the west, Trunk Bay to the east, and nothing but Atlantic Ocean to the north.. Spectacular! So... More

I completely agree. That's why we led Community Sunset Meditations for Peace up there earlier this year. I wish you could have joined us...it sounds like you would have really appreciated the beauty and PEACE we experienced there. It's truly a sacred spot...as you said, "One of the most serene spots on the island". We intend to offer the meditation... More

The quick 5-10 minute climb up to peace hill was fun, but I definitely recommend taking tennis shoes or hiking sandals along with you. The path up is not difficult to navigate but it can be quite rocky. The vistas at the top are spectacular but I do wish there was more information about the mill once you get to... More

Our son got married on the morning of May 21, 2016, on Hawksnest. Wonderful wedding and then we went all along the North Shore, stopping to take photos in her dress. These ruins made great backdrops. The saddest part is that the 2 SD cards from the days before the wedding and the actual wedding, got dropped out of my... More

People often pass by Peace Hill, but a stop is definitely worth it. The hike from the parking lot to the top of the hill doesn't even take five minutes and is very easy. On top of peace hill, you can see Hawksnest Bay and Trunk Bay. It is definitely worth to take a picture on a beautiful day! Hint:... More
