This Bay is absolutely gorgeous! The beach is uncrowded, the water was crystal-clear aqua, and the snorkeling was fantastic. We saw beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish. We also had a "dream-come-true" moment when we came across a sea turtle while snorkeling, and got the amazing experience of swimming across the bay with him! Just be advised that there is... More

I think my wife and I have hit over our visits every beach in St T and St J, some multiple times. However this was our first trip to Salt Pond and very glad we did. Short hike from parking lot. Note- parking was scarce. We had a jeep and were able to snare a spot in the parking lot... More

Like most other St. JOhn locations the coral is bleached. However there is a greater number and variety of fish here. The beach is a .3 km walk from the parking lot. Lovely sand and great view.

About 3 miles past Coral Bay, away from the cruise ship side ofthe island. A nice, sandy beach with a little shade and good snorkeling. A great place to spend the day. Beach is about 1/3 mile down the hill from the parking lot so be prepared to carry your gear. There is a restroom at the beach and a... More

Like so many of St. John's beautiful beaches, Salt Pond offers the white sands and panoply of blues typical of this Island. Well protected (for safe snorkeling), the gentle swells make this a perfect spot for gentle bobbing or lap swimming. Groves of trees offer some shade. And visits from fish and sea turtles browsing close to shore offer a... More

I'd recommend this beach if you're in the mood for a 10 min hike to get to the beach which is fine if you're not carrying beach chairs, a baby, stroller, etc. the shore was very rocky. It looked like a swamp the day we went there with foam all around the edges and tons of bugs everywhere. Pros -... More

Went here part of every day--there was plenty of shade, beautiful sand, great snorkeling--both on the reef and in the grassy sand off the beach. We saw so many fish, so much variety. We saw turtles and rays.

This was our favourite spot for snorkeling while in St. John. There is alot of underwater life to see and enjoy. Snorkel the left side of the bay it's quite amazing. In the center of the bay you can find turtles...each time we were there we were lucky enough to find them. Yes it's a bit of a hike from... More

We hiked up to Ram Head (about an hour) for a beautiful view. Snorkeled in the rocks to the left side of the beach - lots of beautiful fish.
