Caneel took a lot of damage from the recent hurricanes. In fact, the resort is pretty much gone. However, the bay is still there, and the waters are still just as beautiful.

It is not open but volunteers are there working the grounds. It is an easier walk to Honeymoon Beach from there but there are no trespassing signs. Hope they open soon.

gorgeous beach. does have trees for shade. Snorkeling not that great. if you have chairs and coolers pay the $5 for the shuttle. the walk is brutal if you're carrying heavy items. has a great bar!

We went to Caneel late in the day( around 4:00pm). This is my wife's favorite beach. You can't use the chairs unless you are staying there, so bring a blanket or parasheet. There is good snorkrling and this beach is very pretty. Donkeys wandered by...More

The only beach avalible is sunset beach which is a healthy walk to a mediocre beach. There is a $20 parking fee that will be refunded if you purchase $20 or more in the over priced gift shop. Many other great beaches on the island.

You don't have to be staying at the resort to enjoy their gorgeous beach, great snorkeling and beautiful grounds. We swam for ages and ended up walking back to the main beach thru the resort. There were wild donkeys roaming around! We can't wait to...More

Visitors are allowed with $20 per car fee not charged if you spend that on the grounds. You cannot bring chairs or use theirs - towels only. The restaurant has good food but don't wait to go until you are hungry be service is island...More
