Visiting for the first time since 1969 with my daughter who was born in Nassau in 1967,, Parliament Square was exactly as i remember it .The pink walls and contrasting rich green shutters, traditional colonial architecture surround Queen Victoria in the centre. and is the subject of numerous photos.

Although there was grounds keeping at he time we were there it was still an interesting sight. It's off of a side street tucked away in the middle of downtown which is $1.25 bus ride from our resort.

If you pick up a free copy of the Bahamas Trailblazer Map it has a downtown Nassau city map and list (with photos) of places to see. Using the map it is easy to do a self-guided walking tour of the city that gives you a better feeling for the city than just looking out a taxi window. You know... More

Not much to see just four buildings and a fountain in the middle of the square. It is a major meeting place for taxi, tours and cruise ship guest unload here.

Drove by here after returning from our chartered zoo trip. Our guide gave us some history on the buildings and we were able to get a few photos. I can't say much more.

We were surprised by the friendliness of the people. A barrister came out and spoke to us for a long time. He gave us the history of the island, its people and government.

The town needs some touch-up as some buildings were closed or just run down. If the city spent some time and money... More

As part of a taxi tour we stopped here to view Queen Victoria's statue and some of the historical markers, which were very enlightening. You get an idea of British background of the Bahamas. This is worth investigating.
