The Ardastra Gardens, Zoo & Conservation Centre is a peaceful 80 year-old retreat spread over 4 acres of lush tropical gardens. It is a boutique zoo that specializes in bird rescue & rehabilitation, education, preservation of history and conservation of natural resources. Ardastra is home to many native species of plants and animals - including the Bahamas National Bird, the beautiful and exotic Caribbean Flamingo. We are well-known for our animal encounters that allow visitors to get "up close "with some of our residents. We encourage all of our visitors to take a guided tour for a better appreciation of our residents and our property. To maximize enjoyment, we also encourage our guests to schedule their visits around our Signature Showtimes: 10:30am, 1:30pm or 3:30pm. You can participate in the "Flamingo Experience", a unique show of the glory and antics of these incredible creatures together with an excellent narration of their story. Guests can also hand-feed the colourful and playful South Pacific Lory Parrots and have numerous photographic opportunities during your visit. While walking the Gardens, friendly and informed staff will answer questions while two-legged feathered friends will freely entertain. Light refreshments are available at the "Parrot Pit Stop". "Toby's Treasures" is filled with gifts/souvenirs so that you can take a piece of Ardastra home with you.

A nice little zoo and gardens, very much enjoyed spending time here. Leisurely, at your own pace. Not crowded and not pressure to buy anything in the gift shop. LOVED the marching flamingos! Good place to meander. Clean and well taken care of.

We absolutely loved this little zoo and gardens up the hill from Arawak Cay. They have several animals with a high percentage of birds, which we loved - I wanted to spend all day hanging out with the parrots. The lorikeet feeding was great, as...More

Not a lot of animals here- mostly birds, but the gardens are beautiflu and it's a fairly quiet, relaxing place to visit. They have a marching Flamingo show that's fun to watch. There are a few fairly tame Flamingos that kind of "free range" near...More

Had to walk about 1/2 mile from the bus stop to the ticket gate --admission was rather high ---$18 --animals seemed to be healthy and content but the landscape and grounds area were somewhat dirty and needed attention.

Small "zoo", but very interesting plants and animals. Many of the flamingos are roaming the zoo freely which is very nice.

Hi Angiecastroc21. We apologize for the delayed response. Zoo admission remains the same year round. $18 for adults, $9 for children (4-12) and toddlers (3yrs and younger) are free. We hope to see you soon!!

It depends on your pace. You can see everything in 45 minutes, maybe less including the Marching Flamingo Spectacular Show. On the other hand, if you want to get to know the flora and fauna, browse the souvenir show, plan on... More
