The Port Lucaya Market place is offering local (really?) clothes, gadgets and artcraft. Well I find all the tiny shops propose more or less the same bahamian tee shirts or caps, all with flashy colors. Not really fancy style... We were there beggining of December. May be is it better during the very high season?...

The area was still recovering from Hurricane Matthew and many shops were still closed when we were there in November 2016 - HOWEVER, based on past experiences this is a great place to shop, eat, pick up some last minute souvenirs!

This place had the best conch fritters and pina coladas. I went back in 2012 and I still have dreams about this food!

Visited November 11, 2016. Just a few weeks after Hurricane Matthew, so both island and shops trying to recover.

Great restaurants, nice shops, and wonderful people. There is ample choice for most anything and very close to the Grand Lucian area.

The food was very good here. High end shopping and beautiful yachts. We ate at Pices. The service was kind of slow, but not bad.

6 weeks after hurricane Mathew. Most places are closed. It's an expensive place. People here are lovely: friendly and gracious but there isn't anything to do after you buy your t shirt.

This is the main shopping area in free port. Altho there is a small market place outside the cruise ship dock that would do just fine as they have most of the same items at the dock. This marketplace had a few places to eat, even a Subway. But we found the prices of the food at the local restaurants... More

With much of the Island recovering from Hurricane Matthew, we were surprised to find the Marketplace fully up and running. All the store were open and ready for vacationers. Loved the Friday and Saturday music at the marketplace open theater.
