Hope Town Lighthouse is the last kerosene burning lighthouse in the world and that alone makes is worth the visit. But after climbing the not to many stair one see the real star of the tour, the view. If you are visiting Hope Town a visit to the lighthouse is a must and well worth the hour of your day

9 of us toured it and we all enjoyed it. You must climb the stairs to appreciate the beauty of the area. Last manned kerosene powered lighthouse in the world. Please buy something from the gift shop because all funds go towards the preservation of the lighthouse.

The lighthouse is easy to reach from Hope Town but to get to the top you must climb several flights of steep steps and navigate a low hatch to get out on the balcony. It is worth the effort but not the place if you have mobility limitations or a fear of heights.

The Hope Town Lighthouse is an easy climb (wide steps) and the view when you get to the top is wonderful. Be sure to take a camera so you will have proof of the gorgeous harbor and all around the island!

Great opportunity to see one of the few remaining manually-operated lighthouses. Wear shoes or snug sandals to climb the 100+ stairs to the top, and then through the low opening to the open deck around the top. Views of the harbor, the town, water and sky. And free admittance to boot! Great activity for the family.

Our family enjoyed exploring the lighthouse. Lots of steep steps and when you get to the top, you must stoop low and climb through an opening about four feet by four feet. Great views as you walk around the perimeter balcony. As long as you can handle the climb, worth the trip The volunteer lighthouse keepers were so friendly, going... More
