Venturing to Henrhyd Falls on a heavily rainy day in early November proved to be a captivating experience. The rain lent an air of drama to the already lush surroundings as we traversed the muddy yet well-marked trail. Despite the slippery conditions underfoot, the sheer power of the waterfall was both mesmerizing and awe-inspiring. The spray created a magical atmosphere.

Our journey to the falls included crossing a wooden bridge and walking up steep steps to reach the footpath at the top, adding to the sense of adventure. However, the recent heavy rainfall had intensified the falls' strength, dissuading us from attempting to walk behind them for safety reasons. Despite this limitation, our time spent in the presence of such natural grandeur left an indelible mark on us.

Great cascading waterfall with option to walk behind for photo op, nice places to sit and relax, just watch the water fall and flow from a great height.
It's a easy but steep walk down from the car park and not far, the path continues on a circular walk along the river valley and through woodlands, but having just done the Four waterfalls trail we only came to see the waterfall here.
The national trust free car park was busy but we did arrive around 1pm, managed to get the last spot, there is a farmers field next door as an overflow but as it's private land there is a charge, also on this land but next to path to the waterfall is a very nice food wagon, all local fresh produce.

Such a fabulous experience. To reach the falls you have to walk up some steep paths. The weather had been dry for a few days, but I’d expect it to be more slippy if raining.

There were lots of people around of all ages and plenty of dogs - a couple of them enjoying the water.

We managed to park in the free car park - it’s quite small so limited space. There’s a pay for car park £5 right next to it too.

There’s a cafe by the car park, I didn’t notice any toilets, but expect they have facilities if you use the cafe.

We drove over two hours to get here and it was worth it, not the best Waterfall we've seen (Iceland is where its at) but still mightily impressive.

Free parking is available at Henrhyd Fall Car Park and in October places were readily available. A short 10 minute walk down and you are in the valley and can hear the crashing water on the approach.

Cascading water, splashing spray and a mist in the air in the beautiful green surroundings, its what you want from a waterfall. We didn't go behind the falls as it looked a bit slippy and the dog cant be trusted, but maybe next time.

If you are here for a walk as well, then the Nant Lech walk is through some lovely woodland and takes about 2 hours. The only issue is it isn't strictly circular so you either walk back on roads or have to double back along the path you came. Well worth it if you have the time.

You dont get a lot for free nowadays but this is a great way to spend a morning, just make sure you have the appropriate footwear and check the weather beforehand.

Very impressive waterfall!
We didn't go behind it, but plenty of people do.
First visited in April was fewer people but more fully fall. And just recently, in mid August, car park was nearly full at 6pm and not as much water.
Walk to the waterfall is down a steep route but going back up is not as easy but worth it!
Car park is free. unless full than can pay on farmers land for a fee.

You will need to brace yourself for windy roads but the car park is pretty good and the view is worth the gradient.
The Batcave (in the Dark Knight Rises is a stunning spot). If you have waterproofs bring them as walking behind the waterfall is, unsurprisingly, going to soak you.

Walked here from Penycae, which was around 3km. There’s a small carpark with an info board and a cafe with some seats. As others have written the walk to the waterfall is short, but down a steep slope, which is pretty slippery underfoot when wet and the soil is clay. Once at the bottom, then you have to go up a small amount of steep wooden steps. When we came, we were the only ones here, but wouldn’t want to be going up and down these when its busy, especially as they were slippery. If you have dogs, you need to make a decision if they will be able to get up the steps and down them again. That said, when you get to the waterfall it’s worth it. Very picturesque and there is a path going behind the waterfall so you can see it from both sides. From this waterfall it’s possible to walk to another 3 waterfalls, we didn’t as we had the walk back to Penycae but if you have come in the car it’s something you may consider.

Nice waterfall but no batcave. When I went there was very little water coming over the falls, nice walk to it though, takes about fifteen minutes.
The walk back up to the car park is more strenuous, all uphill but not over bearing.
Nice few hours out of the house.

Absolutely stunning waterfall - quite a small car park and then a fairly long walk downhill which is steep and very uneven ground. There is no fencing on the right hand side just a sheer drop. In wet weather it probably gets slippery so take care. The waterfall is amazing, you hear it before you see it. Some people ventured behind the waterfall and others climb down to the stream.
*There is a car park alongside the National Trust one charging £5 per car to use their field saying you can use all day. You will not be at the waterfall for more than an hour *

The free car park is at the top of a steep descent (on a gravelled pathway) down the gorge to reach the falls. We got there before 9.30am which I’d recommend as we had the waterfall to ourselves for a short while, which was a privilege. The falls are breathtaking. The path isn’t as easy to get behind the falls, especially when it had been raining heavily, but walking behind the falls is incredible - wear your waterproofs! By the time we left the car park was filling up but there was also parking in the next field (£5). We spent around 1.5 hours in total. This could be part of a longer walk to incorporate other nearby waterfalls if you wanted to make a day of it.
