Great visit to the castle. We went to visit this with a LARGE group of insurance agents. The grounds were fantastic and what we could see of the house was quite interesting.

Visited the tearoom yesterday with my elderly, disabled parents. Lovely experience and exceptional sandwiches. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Easy access with parking at the door. Would highly recommend.

Visited Thirlestane Castle as part of our road trip with a four night stop over in The Maitland Apartment. Self catering and part of the castle itself, it certainly has the wow factor. Perfect layout, beautifully furnished private apartment with stunning views of the castle...More

A fascinating castle with links to some of the most important periods in Scottish history. The guides present throughout the building were well-informed, friendly and helpful. The accounts of the lives of the Maitland and Maitland-Carew families were interesting and educational. A very worthwhile visit.
