A garden full of surprises and with much evidence of pride in maintaining and enhancing the visitor experience. The 'Green Man' and 'Foam' add much to the feel of the individual garden 'sectors' and the quite recently carved 'Scottish Sundial' replacement is just right. Good to see that the old 'Bee Boles' have been retained and the yew hedges with... More

As members of the National Trust we made a local visit yesterday. We feel that there is not much money being spent on the place and we can tell you that having not long returned from Aberdeenshire the gardens such as Pittmeden and Leith Hall leave this well behind. Have to agree with reader regarding the chat between staff while... More

I had always wanted to visit these gardens and in this instance the day I chose was wet. It did not detract from the lovely well cared for gardens. If it had been sunny I expect the gardens may have been busier. Sadly the house was not open for visits but I viewed it from outside. I loved the garden... More

Went mainly to walk dog. arrived with our dog and showed our membership cards, thought we might get a receipt or ticket or some guidance to the property but nothing, girls too busy chatting. We set off seeing sign for garden as that's the only sign we could see. Staff came running after us saying we couldn't go in with... More

Arrived and wow was it busy but found plenty of parking in overflow field. Heard the skirl of a pipeband which got our feet moving. Went through the gate to tge garden and found a wee part of heaven. A well laid out garden with lovely wee nooks and crannies round every corner. A well established garden. Was an extra... More

We visited the garden and coffee shop last week and were very surprised by just how nice it was. Unfortunately we were too late for a trip round the house. However, the coffee shop was well stocked and the staff were very helpful. The walled garden was well stocked. Well worth a visit.

Living 5 mins away is a bonus. We take our dog there for his walk in the wooded area that surrounds the walled garden which is beauty itself with wonderful trees, bushes, flowers, sculptures dotted about too. Lots of squirrels and rabbits to watch as well as an abundance of different bird songs to listen to. Dogs are allowed in... More

The gardens are well-signposted from Clarkston Toll. It is difficult to tell exactly where the disabled parking is so I left the car behind the tearoom, which saved a walk up the hill. There is a lovely courtyard where you can sit outside with your dog and have tea or browse the many plants for sale. We were glad of... More

Greenbank is a lovely little garden south of Glasgow, not far from East Kilbride. It belongs to National Trusty for Scotland. It is a walled garden divided into numerous “rooms”, has some water features and a handsome fountain. I have been there a few times. You can start by taking a walk around it and perhaps also visiting the house... More

Surprise near me. Beautiful walled garden and lovely wooded walk. No dogs in walled garden which was welcome. Felt safe. Tea room could sit in or out with tea coffee and home bakes. No main lunch so rake a sandwich if there over lunch. 5 pounds for concession and 6 for adult which was worth it. You could see in... More
