It is a bit of a trek to get there if you walk from the paved road. Rough road for a regular car. It is worth the trek to get there. The view is amazing.

We took bikes from Cape Santa Maria resort and it was about 40 minutes each way, with a spectacular view at the end of the Atlantic and the Caribbean -- plus a view of the disappointing monument! The road is not paved, just a combination...More

I don't think the nearby resorts offer excursions to this location any longer, so you'll need to get there on your own. But when you do, you'll likely have the place all to yourself. Bring a camera to capture the incredible vista from the top...More

We visited the monument in late July. The climb up to the monument was minimal at best. View is amazing and well worth the trip. The entire area is definitely worth spending at least an afternoon exploring. What a beautiful island.

From the top of the monument, there are great views of the islands and bays. Snorkeling was very good here. Very clear water, lots of stuff to see. Road is very, very rough. Had I known how bad it was, I wouldn't have tried it...More

the drive out is a wee bit rough, but our van did it without much effort. The climb up was not bad for those in good shape, but maybe not so much for those not up to steep climbs. DEFINITELY worth the short hike up....More

Yes the road is a bit rocky but that adds to the adventure. And there is just a bit of a hike but the end result is more than worth it!! The Monument is a beautiful reminder of our rich history. The views are magnificent....More

Really nice views when you finally get to the monument. Rough road best walked or biked. Not a trip for someone not in decent physical shape.

Visited long island and had a rental car but Omar wouldnt allow his vehicles on the road to the monument. I parked on the road and walked. From the start of the trail it took me about 45 minutes to walk. To be honest, the...More
