The original house on this 3,000-acre estate was built for Sir Thomas Chicheley in the 1640s, rebuilt and added to over the years, and finally restored to its proper splendor today.

Rude and hostile staff yet again - do the Trust employ them on purpose!? We had a queue to park despite there being ample space as “there was mud on the grass” ... completely ludicrous and unnecessary!! Staff in house were vile and treated us...More

Nice place to visit. Lots of dog walking. The cafe is OK but there is limited choice for gluten free and the queues are long. The house is interesting and the car parking is good.

This year was the second Wimpole History Festival and we managed to get tickets for the production by the Austentatious Group, a completely improvised show lasting an hour set in the Regency period. The audience shout out suggested titles for the show; ours was 'Gordon...More

Spent half a day at this excellent attraction only about 10 miles South of Cambridge. Good car parking. Plenty to do and see for all ages. Might be considered expensive without a NT annual, pass but value for money nevertheless.

We went for a long walk through the landscaped grounds, catching glimpses of the house exactly as the landscape designer (Capability Brown) planned, and then made off down what may be the longest avenue in England (3 miles, I think) savouring glorious sunshine. An uplifting...More

We thought the walled garden was magnificent although a few more benches would be welcomed. The Home Farm is great for families. We were rather disappointed in the house though. Compared to most other NT properties very little is shared about the history and the...More
