The house itself is lovely, all of it is open to walk around, the staff were all really enthusiastic with lots of interesting stories and facts as we walked around the house. Its also nice to take a walk out to the folly across the grounds, there are a couple of hidden lakes there too, will definitely be back to... More

Although our visit was during the very busy Easter holidays, we enjoyed revisiting the house and gardens very much. The visit was marred by the fact that we had to queue for over 30 minutes for a cup of coffee in the cafe/restaurant. This was not so much to do with it being busy, as there were plenty of empty... enjoyed the house and farm, favourite bits of the house are the library and lower floor servants quarters. Shame you can't walk round the library more. farm is nice. so is the walled garden. Biggest let down this time was the cafe was closed & the restaurant was so badly under staffed and only had one till open - the... More

We visited the house, very interesting, the guides were very helpful and informative. We then went to the walled garden, bursting with flowers, lovely. We had a delicious lunch in the Stables Restaurant, followed by a visit to Home Farm. Lots of lambs, piglets, baby goats, great time of year to visit, with or without children.

We had an Absolutely wonderful afternoon today here. Fantastic value for money - £2.50!!! Where can you enjoy the outdoors, the children are occupied for a good hour searching for well thought out clues & they get a reasonable chocolate treat at the end?!?! The hunt was great - The children absolutely loved it. I can't get over the price....... More

I was surprised just how busy it was. We were 'caught' by a member of staff just as we exited the car park for £2. No problem with paying but given others walked by whilst we paid it seemed an uncoordinated way of operating and random whether you paid or not. The NT must have missed out on a lot... More

Set in its own substantial grounds , consisting of a country house and a working farm. Lovely opportunities to walk the grounds or just visit the house or farm. The farm has an eye for education for children of all ages with volunteers from the national trust on hand to answer any questions or to enable hands on education for... More

We visited Easter Saturday and already at 11 a.m. the main car park and 1st overflow car park were full so we were directed to the 2nd overflow which was still not far from the house. In the stable block the queue to buy tickets was enormous but luckily we're NT members so went straight to the house. Also the... More

My son and visited this wonderful house on our way home from Cambridge. It was very well-kept and beautifully presented. We particularly enjoyed the walled garden and the home farm. The shire horses were lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I went there on a Sunday and found it to be very crowded. When I arrived, I had to be guided into a large field by a member of staff. Though it hadn't been raining, the field seemed to be a bit muddy. I followed the others to the reception and was given a sticker, which I put into my... More
