If you're feeling energetic it's worth climbing to the top. It's not a difficult climb per se, but wear decent trainers as it's a little tricky underfoot if you're a proper townie like me. There's not much to see of the chateau at the top, just a few crumbled walls. The views are pretty good even if the surrounding landscape... More

Both the castle and the views are impressive. You can imagine how people used to live here, with chambers and windows in perfect state of conservation. The entrance is free.

It looks rather like a fortress and although it seems quite well preserved and maintained, when we went up the hill to visit it, we were the only living creatures. Nice if you want to take a picture, but nothing special though.

Absolutely loved visiting these ruins, the site is immaculate, clean and well preserved. The site has good parking with a nice restaurant and information centre. Next to the information centre you have a massive outdoor theatre with a large outdoor seating area. The location is also host to a medieval festival that takes place in June which I've not had... Crussol is a castle on top of an old city ruins. If you climb Crussol you'll be transported to the past, since the ruins are beeing rebuilt. On top of that you'll exercise while you climb to reach the castle. Once in there please look at the window on the left and prepare your photo camera, since the view is... More

A fine morning 30 minute walk. Stepping through old Chateau paths and reaching a summit with views of the river in all directions. The old ruins remind one of life long ago. Funny to see the dozens of donkeys enjoying the area as well.

My only disappointment with this visit was I couldn't go back in time! Amazing vista. Wonderful site. You can imagine it once thriving in its day. If you fancy a donkey ride, the place to go is here! We took a bottle of red and sat on the peak like king and queen of the chateau.

Brilliant panoramic views over Valence and vallee du Rhone. A great historical medieval castle overlooking St Peray and Guilherand-Granges. Walking to the top keeps you fit, but it is worth it.

They had told us to visit the castle on a day that wasn't that hot because it is a high climbing to the castle. We made the walk of 5 km trough the woods. It was a hard climb if you not used to climbing but the result was worth it: a magnificent view over the Rhône and Valence. The... More

the climb up to the chateau is not as bad as you think and is is certainly worth it. the museum is a little delight and the kids will enjoy trying on the armour. the chateau itself is enjoyable but you will need your imagination. the view from the top of the valley is spectacular.
