Such a lovely place! I went this summer and it was the greatest choice I've made. You can swim in all the lakes, do some hiking, rent a bike. It's pretty cool.

Stayed at the hotel on the National Park side of the island. During a 15 day visit to Croatia spent 2 days on the island . Ferry ride over was relaxing. Walking around the lakes and a boat ride to the Monastery made for a...More

I reviewed this some years ago. I can't see my review here so adding again. You need to line up very early for the ferry. Huge queue and most could not get on. Waste of time! In our experience, which is the only one I...More

Well run operations at the most popular points on Mjlet. Arriving by boat, the park ticket includes a shuttle van up to a small park entrance where you can rent bikes. Bike around the lake - very flat and easy. There is then a boarding...More

Stunning views everywhere you looked. Blew my mind that they were salt water lakes.Hired a bike and even caught the boat over to the restaurant in the middle. and floated from one lake to the other.

We visited Mjlet National Park in September and did a fantastic hike here. However, the entry fee is incredibly expensive just for a day visit ($25/person). The views from the high points were fantastic.

My daughter and I stayed on the island for 10 days. We were living in a rented apartment in Sobra, because there is only one hotel on the island and the hotel didn't look appealing to us. The majority of the people on the island...More

It is not difficult to imagine Odysseus walking on the shore and wandering in fable-like forests of Mljet Island. Clear, blue waters with all kinds of fish, forests with birds, lizards & snakes and nights with loads of stars on sky are something, that every...More

You mention you are going from Dubrovnik to Polace! Why are you then asking about ferries to Sobra? The best/fastest ferry from Dub/Mljet is the high-speed catamaran which goes to Pamona. Not sure of the times of this, as it... More

I do not think that there are any waterfalls on the island of Mijet. The famous waterfalls are in the Plitvice National Park which is in the north of Croatia.

Yes you can, in fact it's one of the highlights. There are several beaches near the ferry points and entry points around the island. The cut that joins the two lakes is said to be fun to swim when there is a tide moving... More
