I have visited this attraction twice during 2 Princess Cruises shore excursions that included a second stop to La Bufadora. I enjoyed my tour guides on both trips. This site is close enough to the port that you don't need to take a shore excursion to visit it but there doesn't seem to be any tour guides on site to... More

It was one of the stops on a Cruise Excursion. Interesting narration of the origin of California and Baja California. Visit of the building with information. Refreshments were included in the tour and also wine tasting where you could buy wine from the region. Outside, in the courtyard, there are merchants with a good choice of products and souvenirs.

Visited this historical building as part of a cruise excursion, and we really didn't expect much. We were very pleasantly surprised. The tour guide was excellent, and conveyed her passion and pride about the history of the site and the city of Ensenada. She told many interesting stories and facts about this beautiful building and site. She spoke English very... More

Take a few minutes to walk the grounds and through the building. Much early 20th century history here. Several parties including weddings were being set up while we were there, but you are welcome to wander through. Definitely worth a stop.

This is our favorite place to go and walk around. The gardens are beautiful and it's well preserved. It's fun to walk around and imagine all of the Hollywood celebrities that frequented the place during prohibition. Lucille Ball and Dezy Arnet being the most famous. You can walk around most of the complex and no one will bother you. So... More

This is a cool stop if you are in Ensenada. Our tour guide said this is where all the locals like to gather for events. Awesome history of the building and the building has some very nice architecture. The building does have some strange smells. At the end of the tour they said we can get free drinks from the... Interesting history (hotel/casino a short boat ride from San Diego, designed to attract the well-to-do and famous during Prohibition in the US) in a classical-looking building. Building has either been well-maintained or, more likely, well-renovated, but regardless is in very good condition. Easy to access and you can spend as much or little time here as you like - but... This is perhaps the single coolest building in all of Ensenada. It was built as a hotel about 100 years ago. The place catered to Hollywood stars who wanted to slip across the border for relaxation and naughty fun. The building has been beautifully restored and is well worth seeing. It no longer operates as as hotel. It has been... More

This is a really cool place if you are into local history. The building and grounds are beautiful, and it was interesting to look at all the old photos hanging up depicting the glory days. Our tour guide was great and very informative, and the free margarita at the end wasn't bad either!
