Long, long promenade with shops, restaurants and a cycle-way. All with a fantastic view over blue water and blue sky.

Pretty walkway along the bay. People work hard at keeping it clean and we saw improvements being made all the time we were there. Driving along it is a bit of a challenge though....can get pretty busy!

This beach could have so much potential but unfortunately the beach is quite dirty and there is lots of construction going on. I would also advise not to swim here...

The Malecon, which has undergone improvements lately, is a lovely way to experience La Paz. Taking a stroll, particularly on a warm evening, is a relaxing way to spend time. There were many local residents no the Malecon in the evening, particularly on Friday evening....More

The city has been working on the boardwalk and it is looking good. A nice place to walk along the water. You can walk, ride a bike or roller blade. Nice place to relax and have a picnic with the family.

With the recent updating of the Malecon this walkway is spacious and well-lit and a huge bonus for this area.

This is where the tourist action begins. Plenty of restaurant options. We enjoyed breakfast on the beach and dinner while watching the promenade. Night transforms this place into a hot spot for bars and clubs. Had options for pop music and pub atmosphere, lots of...More

The Malecon is a beautiful stretch along the shoreline. It is now under renovation and should be completed in four months. A great place where families gather at night to enjoy all the fun there.

Visited the Malecon first week of November. Met with a fair bit of construction as the prepared for the busy season to come. A bit of an inconvenience but I was still able to enjoy myself. La Paz is beautiful, and wasn't too touristy- which...More

This bulkhead boardwalk is being completed, and is lovely. Frequent artwork sculptures, wide, used by joggers, strollers, skaters. There is a separate bike path on the street adjacent. Attractive addition to the town.

The Hotel Blue is where we stayed, the room was very reasonable and included breakfast. It was a couple of blocks from the Malecon. If you are looking for a tour operator, I can highly recommend VIP. Enjoy!

Balandra Beach--our favourite--less than half an hour from la Paz by car. Other beeches right in the city, at either end of Malecon.
