I was staying in La Marina in north Mazatlan. Three friends were staying in what was the old Holiday Inn. Terrific ocean views, tons of restaurants on the main road all along the coast. Worth seeing.

There is a Mc Donalds, yes, but that's it; for the rest this place is real Mexico. Compared with Puerto Vallarta and surely Cancun, Mazatlan is much quieter, less crowded and much more relaxed; the Golden Zone has less all-in resorts and more small sized...More

We always do the all inclusive, but as we walk up and down the beach we see a RV site just south of El CID Castilla hotel. We have talked to a few people who have camped there and they love it!
