A long stretch of beach

Playa Cerritos is a long stretch of sandy beaches that is north of the Golden Zone and little less busy. It's a great place for kids and shell collecting.

This is a great area to surf, watch the surfers, or just relax in the ocean and look at all the sea shells that wash up on the beach. This area seems to attract the local people looking to surf or have a family day together on the beach. Beautiful to walk for miles in you chose to do so.... More

North part of the beach is were surfers go. Love the views of the RIU Emerald Bay from here. Public beach. Many sellers of local goods, especially around that resort. Clear water and nice viewing points in the north.

Stayed at the RV park for 2 days. Little plaza is very nice, good place for coffee in the morning, little shopping there, and some restaurants as well. The beach just south of the RV park is beautiful, good spot to spend the day.

Lots of big waves and definitely not for a novice swimmer but was perfect for having fun! The undertow wasnt as bad as some have put on here, especially if you are catching waves 100ft or less offshore

Venture out past the gold zone to Playa Cerritos and don't miss the restaurant La Bruja. Great family restaurant on the beach, reasonable prices, fun vibe. Watch the surfers. Enjoy the open air restaurant. Share a molcajete. Lots of meat!

One of many playas in the Mazatlán area, but this is our favourite. Less development and a more relaxing experience., Nice variety along the shoreline, and being open to the pacific, impressive wave formations. Recommended.

Playa Cerritos is s little bit of a hike from the golden zone but is very pretty. The surf is super rough during the summer months (I saw a harrowing save from a life guard last night) but the sunsets are gorgeous and beach walks (at low tide) are very pleasant. The winter months are much better for swimming. Cerritos... More

Great area to spend a day or afternoon very busy but surprisingly nice. Everyone is friendly and lots of local gift shops. Bars every where you walk with great deals and the massage huts wow, I say it again wow 25 usd a person for an hr and they were great. Highly recommend getting 1 or 2 during your stay

Step into a time machine and go back fifty years and you will find yourself walking along the beach at cerritos. There are several Certificate of Excellence winners nearby. Stop at The looney Bean for great coffee and exceptional food. This is a very under-appreciated place on the surfer safari route.

Thank Richard P
