I enjoy a nice day on the beach, so if you don't expect more than that, you won't be disappointed. The food was really not good...think runny refried beans. The snorkel equipment was faulty and we saw like three fish, so don't be excited to...More

They make it sound like Deer Island is a special place. Don't bother going. There is nothing there. The day we went there were tons of jelly fish in the water and on the beach. One young man in our group got stung. There's no...More

The number one activity our family of youth wanted to enjoy was snorkeling, but high jelly fish count limited us to a small area on the leeward (downwind) side of the beach on Deer Island. Additionally, visibility was poor because of the recent storms, so...More

We rented a catamaran to the island, 900 pesos for 8 of us to head there and back. We then just explored the island ourselves, including doing the short (10mins) hike to the top for absolutely stunning views. Worth going on our own, not sure...More

This is a nice place to spend an afternoon. the journey there can be the best part. From Zona Dorada it is to find a cataman or motorboat to take you there. However, this is popular place for jellyfish, so check the season before you...More

Took a sailboat around and out to this island. Definitely worth it! Beautiful little beach and very relaxing. Ask your guide about the hidden trail that you can take all the way to the top of it too! Stunning views!

We went on the Deer Island tour in Mazatlan. It was fairly enjoyable. We started off at the El Cid marina; later than the indicated 9:30am which makes it hard if you have impatient teens/kids. They were quite strict with everyone must always have their...More

Wayyyyy better beach here. My friends and I paddleboarded over on a Saturday morning at 8am and hiked up the tiny 5 minute path to the top with a guide. Floating on the beach was the best part. It was shallow and by the angle...More

I booked a private, single person tour through an independent company suggested by our concierge. I rode a jet ski to the island, where they set up an umbrella and chair just for me. They laid out snorkeling equipment and a fresh coconut. Luis, my...More

Probably way too late to reply, but I just saw this. Yes the catamaran will pull into shore. You will get out in ankle to shin deep water. I would not recommend to tour to the top of the island for it can be strenuous for... More
