Nice clean beach. Food is good. People are nice. Beautiful scenery! Can rent horses. To ride up and down the beach shore. Locals sell hand made jewelry. Fresh baked banana bread. Safe town.

Playa Borrego is beautiful with the palapa restaurants, clean sand and calm waters. Just enough wave action to make boogie boarding and body surfing fun, but keeps the surfers away. No hotels or condominiums! Very untouristy, you will see many more Mexican families than travelers. Lively, light breezes and level, soft beach bottom. Great food and drinks available as well... A short walk from the town centre, it's a good place for a lazy hour or three. The cafes and restaurants were nine-tenths closed when I was there; nice to be one of the few gringos around but with a beach as good a this, it deserves more visitors and I'm sure the restaurant staff would agree. Where was everybody---Cancun?

Kilometres of wide, clean, sand beach. Swimming when permitted (pay attention to the tide warning flags). Many seaside seafood huts to choose from

wonderful beach with very little waves. very safe and calm water. you may be served food and drink right down on the water's edge from several palapa restaurants. Can't comment on the food. We just went swimming and enjoyed watching all the locals enjoying a day at la playa with their families.

Mi amiga spent three months hanging out surfing at Mantanchen thirty years ago, and was horrified at how commercial it had become so we headed over to Borrego. WIDE beach - 1/8 mile over hot sand to the water - bring your sandals or stand on your board several times to get to the water. Great ramadas with good food... More

Good place to spend the afternoon. Non pushy vendors. Lots of places to choose from to eat. Good prices, good food, good icy cold drinks.

During the week it's quite crowded...but on Sunday, it's Mexico come alive...food is good, beer is cold, surfing can be mediocre to good...but seriously, Sundays are a circus...especially over the feast of San Blas time frame 3 February...

Swim and take in the sun then dine at one of the many ramada's. Inexpensive. There are vendors who sell things on the beach, but they are subdued by Puerto Vallarta standards.

View is incredible. Beaches are empty, cabanas have great food. It is an easy walk from town.
