Nice beach, but extremely busy. White sand with clear blue water. Not much to do besides snorkel or swim. Restaurants are fairly expensive. Water taxi is fun and cheap though! 50 pesos

Best snorkeling beach in zihua! You can go see the Rey de Reyes the underwater statue! There is lots of great service up and down the beach! Only way to get to las gatas is by boat taxi though which is a small fair fee, margaritas and buckets of beer everywhere :)

Great place to snorkel. No need to book an excursion or have them do a tour for you...they will offer at the beach. Took a water taxi from Zihuat. 100 pesos for two...plus the inevitable tips. Rented the snorkel gear....another 100 pesos and went out to the reef. We picked Otilias to put down our stuff and rent the gear.... More

Playa Las Gatas is a not to miss desitination for us when we visit Zihuatanejo. It's a 15 minute walk from the resorts on Playa La Ropa, or a five minute boat ride. The beach is sponsored by a collection of restaurants that have beach lounge chairs, tables umbrellas etc. You use their chairs and they keep you lubiurcated and... More

Unbelievable experience in beach side service and food. My only regret is we did not have enough cash to fully compensate our host/waiter and owner of Gloria en la Mar.

Las Gatas is nice but frankly La Ropa is just as nice and more convenient. It is fun to get out on the water to get to Las Gatas and everyone needs to dive down to see Jesus but frankly it is a small beach with lots of restaurants. Great fresh seafood, clean but lots of "people". Great for a... More

We walked to Las Gatas from Medano beach. It was an energetic walk, up and down over the rocks, about 1/2 and hour. It wasn't difficult, we did have tennis shoes on, which I'd say is a requirement, but some climbing up and down. When we got to the beach, we stopped at the 2nd or 3rd little restaurant on... More

Went to Playa las Gatas during recent stay in Ixtapa. Cheap drinks, beautiful views, and neat local flare. Would definitely recommend.

Las Gatas was a enjoyable day at a great beach! We took a bus from Ixtapa to La Ropa Beach then walked a trail along the ocean shore to Las Gatas. The snorkeling was average but the beach and restaurants were wonderful. Good pricing for food, drinks and the service was friendly. I would recommend you go but not with... More
