Only way I would improve this is by doing it on a rainy day, but there aren't any in February. Seriously good molé is made sloooowly, constantly stirred by many hands, from roasted peppers, cumin, cinnamon and, of course, Mexican chocolate. Monica's cooking class was one of the highlights of our trip to Zihua! My husband and I love to cook and eat, so we had a blast grinding nuts and chilies in the molajente, and learning all about moles. The finished dish, Mole Poblano, was the best we've ever tasted. We can't wait to try it at home!

We learned how to prepare the poblano peppers and the history of the dish. It was all very hands on from roasting the peppers to stuffing and frying, and of course we got to sample all of our hard work. I left with a new appreciation for the food and a detailed history. Monica was great at responding to emails. She was sweet enough to pick up a birthday cake for my son, who had a birthday the day we took our class. We paid her for it when we paid for our class. That was so nice of her to go out of her way to do that for us. We loved... More

What a great time! My family and I learned to make red and green salsa, enchiladas, chilaquiles, and tortilla soup. All very delicious! Monica was fun, informative and willing to share a few of her grandmothers cooking secrets. I highly recommend this outing!

Highly recommend. If you enjoy cooking and want an adventure and new experience this is for you.. I enjoy cooking authentic Mexican food, with fresh local ingridients from the market..

Maria and her recipes are the best. I took three different classes with her while I was in town and have already made a number of the dishes when I got home. Authentic, delicious, and easy to learn. Don't miss this.

2nd time at Patio Mexica cooking School and I am surprised again how fun it is. You meet new people, laugh at Monica's fond memories of her Grandmother. We even have lunch on what we have prepared.
