Take your time and visit this amazing museum. It's not big, it's not the best, but believe me, it's an oportunity to jump into Mexican History in many ways: the native cultures, the Colony and Cortés and the artists of the muralism. And like a bonus: some antique fosils. Double check it!

I know we were in Mexico so we should expect things to be in Spanish, but this fort has to do with their history. It was surprising there was so little in English. Not a big deal. We still enjoyed our visit. The market outside was great.

My husband and I visited this museum just to see the Diego Rivera mural. It didn't disappoint! Well worth the 55 pesos/each we paid to get in the door. The museum itself is well maintained, and had more of the signage been in English (most were only in Spanish, but some were in English, too) we probably would have stayed... More

The museum is in what was the home of Hernán Cortés in the early 1500's. There is an archeological section, history of the state of Morelos and the icing on the cake is the mural upstairs painted by Diego Rivera in 1929. The US Ambassador Dwirght Morrow commissioned the mural and it is a treasure to have right here in... More

Very interesting museum at the former Palacio of Hernán Cortés. It is not so big so you can make it in 1 or 2 hours. You can see the different uses this building had through history and also learn about this región history.

Notable for it's importance in the varied uses of the structure thru colonial and post colonial history, this museum is so easy to enjoy for the variety of the collection. There really is something for anyone interested in the history and culture of the town! One has a great view from the galleries of the surrounding environs. The special exhibit... More

We. Loved. This. Museum. Well-preserved and well-displayed artifacts with historical context. "The mural." There is so much to see and understand; I could have stayed hours longer and been happy. For those who get tired of looking at "old stuff" there are also beautiful views of the city from the balconies.

This is a museum of Mexican history. It is one of the original buildings of Hernan Cortez. It is really not worth the money, but is interesting to look through. Right in the heart of downtown.
