This pocket of activity was a magnet in the busy surrounds. Filled with vendors in a good way, children playing, plenty of benches, and great affordable snacks and juices at the base of the bandstand, it is a photographr-of-life's dream come true. Joy abounds in the density of Centro!

This is an interesting place to people watch. Really starts ginning on Friday and Saturday nights. Lots of vendors, some performers, food, etc. When I was in the center of the city, I usually made it a point to walk through this just to feel the vibes of the city. Other than the people and the vendors, nothing else. It... More

We pass this square repeatedly throughout the day and there are lots of people relaxing or selling. There are some concerts in the beautiful gazebo at times. We preferred the larger square adjacent to this and enjoyed a lady who made and sold fresh churro so.

This is as colorful as it is becoming! If something is happening, it is right here: you get to see people left and right, your shoes polished, cotton candy in many colors, and the fruit stand to enjoy smoothies, juices and blendies, you are going to like it if you enjoy the view of old Cuerna. There is a lot... More

Great Plaza for sitting, enjoying the fresh tropical fruit stands, having shoes polished, listening to the vendor's calls for ballons, toys, and cookies, tasting the many traditional corn offerings such as esquites and enjoying the Thursday's performances of musicians playing marimba music. Unfortunately, Tripadvisor's title for this Plaza is incorrect as too the address. This Plaza is in the Centro Historico... More

Everyone in Cuernavaca just calls this plaza "el zócalo." It's the heart of downtown Cuernavaca, the best place to people watch and get a sense of the place. There are sidewalk cafés here, my favorite is Los Arcos. Lots of vendors selling their wares. Kids playing, people on benches reading the paper, people selling balloons and snacks from carts. There's... More

Being a natural from Cuernavaca, i can recall many stories that have happened to me right at this plaza. Or el kiosko like we usually call it. I remember Family sundays when we will stop in order to buy the paper and a fresh guava, Orange, mamey juice. You Think you know tropical fruits Think again, you will find some... More

What a great zocalo! (Two zocalos, actually.) Throngs of people of all ages. Vendors, jugglers, musicians, fire-eaters, little kids bouncing huge inflatable "pencils" off the crowded paving stones. Statues. Seniors gingerly dancing to an old song; break-dancers with "Brooklyn" t-shirts. Elote-sellers trying to outdo each other with their pitches. The elegant gazebo is fantastic, elevated about 15' up, with shops... More

We went in the afternoon for a walk and felt a little disappointed as it was dirty and not very well kept. There was people smoking dope in plain sight and it smelt of rubbish. It could be a fantastic place with a litttle TLC.
