They are doing major renovations until 2018 so only about 20% was operational. They explained this to us and offered 2-1 entrance fee. After a very disappointing look around- we saw a giant sign explaining about the restoration and that it was free and open to the public. I looked at the ticket that we had paid for and the... More

The first room you visit is simply amazing. They have a large and complete woolly mammoth skeleton. When you go there dont forget to also visit the second floor. They have antique vehicles that appear to be from the early 1900s. According to the information they belonged to former President of Mexico Porfirio Diaz. Also dont forget to see a... More

This is a small museum that you can visit in one or two hours. The building was a catholic Seminar during the Colonial period.

Nice museum housed in an 18th century building with two main sections: - Ground floor: (pre) history and etnological collection that houses many artifacts, largely of pre-hispanic origin. It also shows what the region of Jalisco looks and looked like. At the beginning of the exhibition both english and spanish descriptions were available. From the second item the english text... This museum has been recommended to me by local colleague of mine. But I have not found there anything of a big interest. Other than skeleton of mammoth. And not sure that even this one was a real or copy... As there is NO SINGLE word in english. Other than mammoth there are some several rooms with paintings on religious... More

The Museo Regional of Guadalajara is one of the better organized museums in the area. Located in the heart of the city and housed in a beautiful colonial mansion. They have several exibitions and galleries which only half were opened when I visited. There is a section dedicated to pre historic animals of the region. Where artifacts and bones are... More

Very interesting if you want to learn about the history of the region. From nomadic people traveling through to sedentary civilizations that built a life in Mexico.
