While in Guanajuato, I visited Diego’s childhood house. Could se his developing through the years and confirm he was born an artist. I enjoyed and learned a lot with this visit. No sight is a “must” but I would suggest the visit.

Interesting small museum. The downstairs is the house that he was born in, complete with turn-of-the century decor and furnishings. Upstairs there are galleries of his mostly early career paintings. Many impressionism, post-impressionism, and cubist works. I found the portraits most compelling.

Diego Rivera was born in Guanajuato and his family decided in late 20th century to turn it into a museum. There are not too many paintings of Rivera himself (most are in Mexico City), but there r are always visiting exhibitions by famous Mexican contemporary...More

With a new section they just added, this museum offers a full spectrum of art from the life and works of iconic Mexican painter Diego Rivera to the works of contemporary Mexican artists. Two of the spaces have rotating exhibitions.

This museum is walking distance from the city center and it's a real hidden gem, 3 floors full of art of one of Mexico's most important artist. The collection is owned by Diego's grand daughter and I highly recommend visiting, price is really cheap.

Didn’t know too much about Diego going in, I’ve seen the Frida movie and seen his face on the 500 peso note and that’s all I know. It was a cute little art gallery/museum. It could have had a bit more about Diego himself so...More

Small, most of the art is from when he was young, but you get to see the whole house so it gives a sense of middle class life in Guanajuanto. Assuming you share our art tases, a must see.

This is not a museum with Rivera art. It was his boyhood home and that is interesting. But there's a lot of great art on the walls. Also there is a audio/visual guide to one of Riveras famous murals (which is not in the house)...More

We ate lunch at San Angel Inn which is next door, so we decided to stop here afterward. It was a Saturday afternoon, and there was about a 5 minute wait to enter Diego’s home. Admission was 35 pesos per person. We spent about 45...More
