Centrally located museum with wonderful pieces of work for Diego Rivera. Only downside was I travelled with very small backpack that I used as purse and shopping bag They refused to let me take it in and had to check it. I didn't want to check my wallet and valuables so one person in party ended up sitting out for... More

This is the boyhood home of Rivera and his former house has actually been absorbed into a museum of his life. The museum is spread across two buildings with multiple floors. The ground floor tries to portray what his house and furnishings might have looked like, but people seem to pass through that quickly to get to the salons where... More

Centrally located this is the house where the painter spent his first years. It is a nice house of three floors which houses a museum. The house is nice and interesting to appreciate how the affluent people lived one hundred years ago. There is no much of his work except some sketches, preliminary work and a few reproductions of work... More

This wonderful museum is located in the home where Diego Rivera lived until he was six years old. One of his children had the foresight to work with the government and others to repair and preserve the home and turn it into the present museum. Take the time to wander through the entire four floors - it is worth the... More

We weren't that familiar with the work of Diego Rivera but learned a lot from this exhibit, even though most of his own work there are sketches and unfinished works. Beautiful home also.

A beautifully restored early home of The Rivera family. Many drawings, painting, prints, sketches and sculptures. Well worth visiting.

House itself unremarkable but Rivera's collection of works (including sketches and studies) by other artists (Atl, Siqueiros, Orozco) very interesting.

We enjoyed our visit to the Diego Rivera Museum but found other museums to be more inspiring in their displays.

Located near the University of Guanajuato, the museum chronicles much of Diego Rivera's life and development as an artist. Many interesting drawings that demonstrate various stages in Diego's artistic formation. Also on display are rooms of the original house where he was born and lived as a child. No great murals or large paintings but well worth seeing.

Once paid entrance fee you see small stating that collection of Rivera art is elsewhere. Indeed only few pencil sketches remain What to see: period furnishings , works of other artists and uptop a copy of Rivera mural Not worth time or money
