I have been in mines and caves all over the world and I am here to tell you this was no mine. It was a hole in the ground placed here as a tourist trap, Sure it was manned by people posing as hard core...More

I'm totally into caves, but where I live there aren't any, so a mine was the closest thing that could fill that void! It is a steep walk down, and it's REALLY hot down there, so take that in mind. Other than going down into...More

Our tour was lead by a former miner and his tale was extraordinary. At times it was difficult to hear/understand what was being said. My kids don't speak enough Spanish to have enjoyed this tour and as such I wouldn't recommend it for kids.

Kids, teens, and adults will enjoy this history lesson about the Spanish conquest as well as the Spanish Inquisition that lasted for centuries and reached the Americas. Prices are accessible and as always negotiable.

The backstory of this mine is that it had flooded and was abandoned. When the Count took it over, he promised that if he was successful, he would build a temple (he was, and he did). The overall complex is interesting with some dioramas of...More

Since you are in the mining town of Guanajuato, you might be interested in seeing a real silver mine. The entrada is minimal (10 pesos?). As has been said, you walk down a staircase into the mine, and then back up again. You wear a...More

Although the guides only speak Spanish it is easy to follow the lecture. If you have kids with you this is an unusual must see activity.
