This museum is so awesome that I had to return the next day. Whether you have ever read DQM or not, you will be delighted. Great bookstore and coffee shop, too.

This surprising collection lovingly exhibited in another beautiful old building with its own interior courtyard is worth a visit. Dali's illustrations and those of indigenous group drawn on giant leaves of particular note.

A great mixture of Quixote inspired art. There was varied knowledge about the original Quixote storyline in our group so it would be awesome if there was a synopsis of Quixote somewhere in the museum, but otherwise it was very cool to see the different representations in a small museum (2 stories, 16 rooms?)

We stumbled upon the Museo de Don Quijote after walking down from the Monumento de Pipila. There was no fee to enter on the day we visited, a Tuesday. There were wonderful collections of paintings in different media and styles depicted Don Quijote. My favorite room was that with works by Salvador Dali. There are some fine sculptures and murals... I was somewhat disappointed by this museum featuring various interpretations of Don Quixote and his story. The sheer number of homages was impressive. The museum's janitors were wet mopping rather than dry mopping the wooden floors with a solution that irritated my eyes. They were also visibly annoyed when anyone walked on areas they had recently mopped. "How dare we... More

I didn't know there was a Don Quijote museum. Our guide at Teatro Juarez told us to go. So we did. Students pay $10 pesos, a very low price for such a wonderful experience: seeing so many different Don Quijote and Sancho Panza interpretations, including paintings, sculptures, and even a comic, was a serendipitous event, and we enjoyed it for... Wonderful artworks - we visited during the 400th anniversary Festival Cervantino (named after Cervantes wrote Don Quiote) and saw special exhibits includoing 2 rooms full of Quiote related Salvador Dali works. Also many other artists, fabulous traditional and even more fabulous and interesting contemporary works in 2D and 3D. Nive open cafe space to have a treat or just to... More

We were in Guanajuato for their famous festival Cervantino so this museum was one of the main attractions for us. We enjoyed the art, and the great coffee shop located on a beautiful courtyard, and had the best coffee and hit chocolate in town.

I wasn't expecting much but this turned out to be a really enjoyable stop. I didn't know that Don Quixote was such a well-loved figure in the Spanish world. There's some really beautiful and whimsical sculptures and paintings from all over the world. The different artists' interpretations were really fun and provocative.
