Don’t bother walking all the way down just to go to the market. It is full of Chinese pseudo souvenirs from Mexico. This is so sad! Bags resembling design from Chiapas or Oaxaca are Chinese made. Beware of the “hand embroidery” even if they tell...More

The building is quite imposing, and the selection of fruit and vegetables are great. I really cam to try the well recommended street food, and the choice is huge. However, the souvenirs are of the lowest, but cheap, quality.

Like most markets of this nature in towns of the size, the overwhelming frenetic activity is the reason to be here! The sounds of butchers chopping, the sights of beautifully colored fabrics for sale, the smells of the exquisite foods been prepared and served all...More

Not necessarily a tourist trap since this is the main market downtown where locals buy everything from food to clothes. Of course you will find souvenir stores but the experience is the one you dont want to miss.

The market under a large metal building is bustling with merchants and noise. Feel the energy of the city and smell the foods. All kinds of merchandise, foods, snacks and drinks for sale. Most merchants only speak Spanish and take cash only. Very reasonably priced!

Nicely done market with lots of food stalls, produce, and meat/fish/poultry. We enjoyed (very inexpensive) food with locals. Not a place to go for high end clothing or other things, but a variety of gift items. And, fun people watching, including outside the building.

I was excited to see this marcado. But it was not that special. We ate carnitas here and they were the worst carnitas I have ever eaten--and I LOVE carnitas. There are little bar stools you sit on and watch them chop and cut up...More

this is a large market that covers 2 entire floors with just about anything you can imagine. There must have been over a hundred booths. It was very central in location and easily accessed
