We walked inside the University, up the stairs and around the place. It's okay. Good for a couple of photos. I wouldn't rank it as a "must see" place.

This is an huge building in the little of town, built 50 years ago, which has been controversial from the beginning. It is huge and it doesn't fit as style, material and color. Now it is part of the landscape, is visible from everywhere and it is part of the landscape. There is a big open staircase which attracts students... More

This will be a stop in your walk around the city center. Up the front steps there is an ok view of the city (there are many other sites with better views). But, it's fun to climb the steep steps.

It was not open at the time but a really grand building with impressive stairs to approacch. Is located very near other attractions and no other similar structure.

Oh to be studying here! What a stunning building with a backdrop of brilliant blue sky. You can spy the turret type tops from the Plaza de Paz ...so it's easy to find. Gorgeous!

This main University building is located down the street from the Diego Rivera house, and you'll end up walking past as you explore downtoen Guanajuato. The people watching is great, and of course it's a great spot for a selfie!

If you are lucky there will be an evening musical performance. We were able to enter the auditorium for a production.. an ensemble. The show was excellent and the acoustics were very good. The building interior looks old but I am told it was built in the 50's. Rather than climb the 150 or so stairs, there is an elevator... More

We were not able to go in. Its a very interesting building which stands out. You can just about take a photo of it all from down the bottom of the steps. Signature Guanajuato!

Did not enter but just the sheer size of this University is amazing. The construction is breathtaking and to walk up the front steps would be a daily exercise in itself.
