Overview
More

The Museo de Arte Popular is just two streets from the Alameda and has an address on Revillagigedo however, the entrance is not on that street but around the corner. On its three floors the vast handicrafts of Mexico have been divided into nine themes...More

This was one of my favorite museums in Mexico City. The vibrant colors and beautiful folk art pop off the stark white walls. The atrium with the large skylight illuminates the courtyard and the adjoining open halls. Hanging in the courtyard are many large colorful...More

I would recommend everybody to visit this rather small museum to get an impression of some of the Mexican culture. The gift shop is a must!

We thoroughly enjoyed this museum, everything was so bright and vibrant. Understanding the cultural references in the art was also interesting and helped frame the rest of our time in Mexico. The museum is also the exact right size, you dont feel overwhelmed or wanting...More

What kind of museum has monsters in its stairwell? (See the photo.) Actually, when I visited on January 9th, there were monsters encircling the ground floor -- and more looking down from one end of the three floors above. Signs said that this was the...More

This is a beautiful relaxing museum, not so big that you get exhausted and has the typical colorful crafts from all over the country.

This beautiful park was once the playground for the

the perfect place where locals and visitors can spend
a sunny weekend afternoon to relax or shop for
souvenirs at the market. Kids can run around or grab a
bite of cotton candy while teens and adults wander
around admiring the charming gardens and the

All museums have rules about checking backpacks and all have coat checks. I have left luggage in various coat checks without a problem. But you could ask the concierge where you are staying to call the museum to be sure.

Explanations should be in both languages. If someone is missing, you can always ask for the Manager incharge to have the matter solved.
