We had to go for a mental arithmetic contest for my son. So we spent come time walking around the campus as well. There are some nice museums within the campus. We enjoyed our time at one of the largest universities in the world.

This huge campus really boasts only one amazing building, so don't plan to spend too much time here, otherwise. The muraled building is photogenic, and then it's time to move on.

Being on exchange here has been great, yet quite exhausting considering the size of the University City and the distances between things. It's a lovely place to visit for a day, they have tours for the murals and on bikes too. Plus, the Cultural zone is great for museums and theatre. If you happen to visit, use the Puma Bus... More

A little off the beaten track in Mexico City but easily reachable by metro is the vast area of the university. Lots of lots of rather boring buildings of the different faculties are not really worth a visit even though guidebooks tell differently, but the library is too good to miss: All 4 sides of the windowless building are adorned... This library is truly a work of art. All four sides are covered completely in mosaic small tiles. Hundreds of sections tell stories. It took many many years to create. Each person was given a drawing of a one meter section to put together. That.s about 3 feet by 3 feet just a bit bigger. So no one knew what... More

we booked Tesoros Mexicanos Tours and we toured Xochimilco, Coyoacan, Frida Kahlo's museum and University building and all for only &38.00 Dollars. the museum entrance fee was covered by them and of course in Xochimilco you pay for your food and believe me this tour is worth at least $100.00 Dollars, just returning from Europe you know this is a... I walked a fair distance through San Angel to see another of my '1,001 buildings you must see before you die' - the University Library, The complex is pleasant enough, particularly at weekends, but it's the library which is centre stage. Its incredible exterior is adorned with mosaics inspired by indigenous Mexican art.
