Was really disappointed when I came to Plaza Garibaldi. After reading so much about it was very disappointed. Felt like it was a big tourist trap. Lots of very pushy touts trying to get you to their bars/ cantinas. Can see Mariachis else where

We visited in the evening for drinks and dinner. We only planned to eat at one of the 2 recommended restaurants, so ask your concierge. This plaza used to be clean, fun and safe to visit. Now, it's dirty with homeless people sleeping in corners. I did not take any pictures. It's so sad. Yes, it's the place where mariachis... More

Came here with my family and Saturday night around 12am. We parked underground and it was a big mistake they overcharge for parking just for a couple of hours. Don't park underground! There is plenty of police around Garibaldi. We ate at the first restaurant as you enter the food court. It was pretty good I had pozole. Great customer... More

Seedy, dangerous, druggy, smelly. And to think this place had a facelift! Save your time and find mariachi elsewhere. It's a real cesspit. Even when artists are playing they are overlapping each other's music so you can't enjoy their music. So many homeless people on the way here. This place is a dive and an alternative location should be sought.

The real Garibaldi starts whe it gets dark although during tue days there are some bands ready to play for you. My visit was at night time. There are many eateries sorrounding the plaza, try the ones on the mercado, no mariachis there but reasonable prizing and good food. Good area to buy not to cheap gifts. As per the... More

Situated in the heart of the historic area on the wrong side of the tracks! Rooms are located of the square and have paper thin walls so you are particularly partying with the locals every night! Everything is a taxi ride away as you wouldnt want to walk the streets at night.. shop front are gated and homeless line the... More

Three blocks from Bellas Artes is the Plaza Garibaldi or Plaza del Mariachi.. We went passed 9:00 PM.. There were a lot of people listening Mariachi Music... We asked a Mariachi to sing several Mexican songs... It was a very nice evening.. we had some tequila drinks, enjoyed the weather, the music... If you like mariachi music, you have to... More
