Situated in the heart of the historic area on the wrong side of the tracks! Rooms are located of the square and have paper thin walls so you are particularly partying with the locals every night! Everything is a taxi ride away as you wouldnt want to walk the streets at night.. shop front are gated and homeless line the... More

Three blocks from Bellas Artes is the Plaza Garibaldi or Plaza del Mariachi.. We went passed 9:00 PM.. There were a lot of people listening Mariachi Music... We asked a Mariachi to sing several Mexican songs... It was a very nice evening.. we had some tequila drinks, enjoyed the weather, the music... If you like mariachi music, you have to... More

I have been warned but didn't want to listen as I wanted to see the most of Mexico. Don't do that stupid mistake, there's almost nothing to see, nothing to do and the restaurants aren't nice. My boyfriend and I got annoyed around for not giving cigarettes to drug addicts, thank God one of them was lucid and asked the... More

Keep this place as last minute place. Be aware and ask all the questions before you sit down. Ask about if they accept CCards, ask about cover charge, pay cash only. Not a reputable place.

We love mariachi music and this is the square where they gather. Unfortunately when we were there, it looked a bit like skid row. The restaurants on the square did not look clean. The mariachi tradition is so important to Mexican culture. It is sad to see it presented publicly in such a manner.

We walked from the Palacio de Bellas Artes to here, and the walk was super sketchy. Once we got to the plaza, it seemed a bit more safe but I was still on high alert. We had drinks on a patio (I forgot the name), and the lady was very nice and charged us the fair amount. As we were... More

Early going with some walk around. We sat outside because my daughter is 15 but we had some tequilas beer and fun time. Don't bother about people mugging around just say "gracias" and that's it.
