Great service and very good food. Ordered a snack there and a beer. It was very reasonable and a great place to sit.

This place, which gives you a birds eye view of the entire city of Oaxaca is a place to chill. We went there at the dusk and it was nice to see the sun go down and the little lights shimmering all over the city.

The views over Oaxaca City is definitely worth the hike. A 10 minute walk from downtown to the base of the steps, then another 10 min steepish climb up. There's a couple tiendas that sell drinks on the way up.

I agree with other reviewers that this may not be the best place in terms of the quality of the food, but El Mirador does offer a perfectly decent breakfast (my favourite - hot chocolate or cafe de olla, pan de yema, fruit, entomatadas with egg or pork. This place has a wonderful breezy view, it's spacious, has lots of tables, good service. Unfortunately, the food was not very good at all. This is based on one visit. We ordered what was to be a mix of grilled meats and vegetables (Parrillada). It came very quickly. It was a reheated mess...fatty ribs, fatty bacon, old tasting tiny pieces... More

This is a nice walk up to a nice view, but be advised: bring water during the day because it's quite a climb, and at night be cautious as there have been minor robberies in this part of town.

The panoramic vistas, and the parrillada were the best part of the experience. The tacky decor the worst.
