Construction of this church was interrupted by the civil war. Located in a quiet neighborhood but easily accessible. The original organ was being rebuilt when we visited.

Do not miss seeing the organ in the choir loft. The contrast between this church and St. Dominic Guzamen in Oaxaca is striking.

The 16th Century Church of San Jeronimo, in Tlacochahuaya. This delightfully charming church was built in the late 16th century by the Dominicans, an order founded by Santo Domingo. The Virgen del Rosario, the Virgin Mary in her aspect of holding the Rosario, is well...More

A colonial treasure in a very small village in the surroundings of Oaxaca. Great paintings and its fabulous organ as well as the whole decoration are the highlights. The visit can be combined with other villages around, where beautiful crafts are made, or Santa Maria...More
