Walk to Beach from Downtown Cancun

Playa Las Perlas is a pleasant walk along Kukulcan Boulevard from downtown Cancun. Local families enjoy the white sand, gentle waves, shallow water, and good snorkeling.

A 30 min. -ish walk from Cancùn city. The beach is public but I found it hard to see how far you were allowed to walk down the beach. Furthermore, there were no shops or places to buy either water or food. In general not a very nice beach compared.

I came to Las Perlas beach early to watch the sunrise. When I got there, there was only one other person there. Yes, the beach is tiny, but if you're staying in Centro Cancun (the city, not the Hotel Zone), you can't beat it for convenience and amenities.

Recently went to ask about diving with this outlet and was encouraged that many staff had PADI tshirts. This was a false hope. First time I went I was told to come back when the dive boat was back. That is ok as I thought it meant that someone who knew what they were talking about would be back for... More

Beautiful beach, but dangerous waves an undertow. Went there with friends and 2 if them had 2 get pulled out by lifeguards because the waves were so crazy. We then moved over to a different part that was more calm but then it was extremely shallow. Lots of seaweed as well. And the resorts all back on to that beach... More

The beach is small but has several free amenities like showers, bathroom and shade. The water is not as clean as you would expect in Cancun due to the seaweed this time of year. The grassy bottom also adds to the color of the ocean to be less blue. Its small enough to feel private but there are better beaches... More

Don't expect a day at the at the Palace. Location is the best thing going for it but too outdated and is in need of a face lift.
