We were at the Museo Maya de Cancun which had two piece from the Museo de Arte Popular Mexicano on their grounds. We found the Museo be Arte Popular Mexicano web site and tried to find the Museum using their map and our phone's GPS. We got our position on top of the position where the museum was suppose to... Based on the review here, I headed to the place as indicated on the map, only to find that the museum is not located in this place. People in the area had never heard of it. How can there be so many reviews of a place that is not here, and nobody mentioning that it is not here?

I visited because I love to see Mexican "Day of the Dead" figurines. I have also fallen in love with some of the eclectic art produced in the Cancun area including Playa De Carmen. This Museum will not disappoint. It is well worth a visit.

The Mexican Riviera adventure was a wonderful 8-day cruise in The Pacific from Los Angeles, California. NCL took us to this world-famous Mexican playground of Acapulco, renowned for its lovely beaches, legendary cliff divers and wild and energetic nightlife. We spent a day basking the wealth of natural beauty and man-made pleasures of Zihuatenejo. Stroll down the narrow cobbled streets... More

With all the museums in DF, you may be on museum overload by the time you get here, but if you are interested in Mexican folk art, this needs to be on your itinerary. There are four floors to explore - the building has an open courtyard and there are exhibits inside and outside on each floor. I really didn't... More

After a fruitless search, we found that the museum is now part of Xcaret, which might well be a worthwhile attraction, but is hardly accessible easily from the hotel district.

The Museo is a small museum at km 4 on Boulevard Kulkulcan in Cancun (near the giant Mexican flag). It is well worth a visit. This is a collection of popular art. There are collections of musical instruments, containers made from gourds, kitchen utensils, masks, toys, figures dressed in costumes from various regions, and tree of life sculptures. I liked... This is a nice place to spend a few hours. This small Museum has so much culture in it. Check out some of my favorite pieces at the Museo de Arte.
