A step closer to Mayan culture

The museum is a small one but has enough visual stimulation to give you an idea of the Mayan culture. You are allowed to bring your cell, so taking pictures is not an issue. I would suggest not going on a hot day. The museum was small but had more than enough artifacts and signage to give you an idea... More

We planned to visit the museum on a cloudy day but it was closed on Monday. So we went again the next day on a sunny day and it was nice to walk in the garden to see the plants and the building. There's some view from the roof. We really liked the exhibitions inside. It was allowed to take... More

All the exhibits and artifacts are on the top floor. The archaeological digs are on the ground floor. You will run into many friendly iguanas around the site. It will take a few hours to walk around and see everything. They don't allow people to carry bags inside however, there are free lockers available for you to lock up your... More

Excellent exhibition of Mayan artifacts. Definitely worth seeing. We were 6 adults and two children, ages 10 & 16. Probably not good for children 6 and below. The garden and ruins were also very interesting

We found our visit at the museum very nice, the museum was small but had an interesting collection of Maya culture. The only big minus was the lack of English information about the items, there were only few signs to read in English. I recommend to visit there if you are f ex planning to make an excursion to the... More

Interesting museum if you'd like to learn about Mayan culture but you don't have time to visit the ruins of Chichen Itza. The collection is not very big and there are no texts in English... Good to spend some time in a hot or rainy day...

At only 65 pesos this is a bargain. The grounds feel like you are in the jungle with real Mayan buildings and plants. It is a leisurely stroll to the small pyramid with other artifacts to see with clearly written descriptions. A lizard or iguana along the way. I enjoyed the large sculptures of jaguar/crab, jaguar/turtle animals, etc. The museum... More

We spent hours in there and read every single line. Well done! Full of details, clear and a lot of interesting material. There could be a small café though inside to take a rest and have a drink of water.
