MUSA ( The Underwater Museum of Art) is an underwater museum located in the National Marine Park surrounding the Cancun, Isla Mujeres, and Punta Nizuc area. MUSA contains over 500 sculptures of more than six different artists. The sculptures provide areas for coral growth and contribute to give shelter for fish and other organisms. The museum may be viewed by diving, snorkeling, or glass bottom boat through many local authorized marinas."The Art of Conservation" is the reason this Non Profit Organization was created with an effort of the Mexican Federal Government and Cancun Nautical Association. MUSA continues to grow

This was my second trip down to MUSA, and I was so happy to see that the statuary is growing and attracting a diverse selection of sea life.

Very interesting statue garden. Nice change of pace to scuba through. We dove here twice and was interesting both times. Not many fish, but still nice.

The museum contains artwork, placed at the bottom of the ocean. It's probably too deep to really take in while snorkeling, but any of the good dive shops will run single-dive and multi-dive excursions to the museum. The aquatic life has really taken to the museum, so you get to not only look at some artwork, but you get to... More

We came here to see the statues but since we are not divers you could not really see much and there were no fish at the site. Also the sculptures need to be cleaned unless they are being used as a reef i don't know because theres no fish there as i said. The volkswagen was ok. I wouldn't make... More

Dear Campo84748. First of all, thank you so much for visiting MUSA and taking your time to write this review. I totally agree with you, to enjoy this MUSA gallery at Isla Mujeres I highly recommend to scuba dive, not snorkel. We are very proud to announce that all the sculptures are now covered with life so no, we don´t... More

The MUSA was an interesting dive to do once to see these statues underwater. For the second dive we went to or the second dive we went to Manchones Reef which was a terrific dive, both for the coral and the fish.

We did this through Aquaworld. They were fantastic. I had never been diving before and was scared to death. But, the divers were extremely patient, good with instructions, and very conscientious of the rookies. We paid the extra $80 for the DVD at the end, so the photographer took lots of pictures of my kids and me as we swam... More

I thought this was sort of goofy by the description, but when you see it underwater it's very interesting. Not so much the sculptures, but the sea life that's moved in on and around it. Don't forget to look under the sculptures for those mantis shrimp, lobsters and urchins.
