This is one of the best sites of the Mayan world. The geometric latticework is outstanding. The pyramids, ballcourt, and other structures are prime examples of Mayan architecture. However, the cost is high (about $13 US, two different entrance fees required), bathrooms are dirty with...More

What a fascinating city! I was enthralled with the Pyramid of the Magician. And I was stunned by the gigantic structures, particularly the structure upon which the governor's palace and the turtle house sit... you will think that you are on land because you are...More

The site is amazing, totally worth going. You can't go up to the Pirámide del Adivino, the main one, but the rest is free to go and climb. One of the best views of the jungle and it's full of iguanas and butterflies everywhere !!

A little bit more expensive than the other ruins we have visited in Mexico; but worth the cost. There were many carvings on the structures and we are impressed by the fact that the wood lentils over doors are still intact

The whole archeological zone is huge! Get a guide if you can, it's very interesting to hear the stories when you walk with a guide. However, my visit was cut short due to the heavy downpour, so didn't even get to see the light show...More

From the downtown Historic Center it takes about an hr or so. Leave EARLY if in downtown area as traffic gets quite congested.

I did not tour Uxmal with a personal guide. You will most certainly find authorized guides at the entrance to Uxmal; they usually do a good job. Authorized guides have a credential.
